Which tubulars for 4.6 V8 Landrover 90

looking to fit a set of stainless tubular manifolds to my 4.6 gems thats going into the 90 shortly,

are the ones for the 3.9 suitable as i cant seem to find a set for a 4.6?

also is there one brand that stands out above the rest?

its maybe the rattler that loosened it, but i killed both batteries before resorting to taking the sump off and as the engines in a different garage to the compressor i couldnt use the air rattler.

Ok so got the job sorted, removed the sump and placed a bit 2x2 box section between the crank and block right at the very front and using a half inch breaker bar the bolt moved very easily

Iv got a pretty good air one and a large cordless clarke which is pretty powerful but today they wouldnt shift the bolt. I was thinking maybe i could remove the sump and wedge a piece of 4x2 between the crank an block to stop the crank turning. Would this be ok? The engine is on the floor so isnt th...

Ah never thought of that, will give it a try in the morning and see how it goes. Im guessing the bolts gona be mega tight?

ok so im rebuilding the 4.6 gems before i fit it in the 90 and have 99% of the engine stripped but just cant get past this crankshaft pulley bolt. as its a project i dont have all the parts yet, so dont have a flywheel to help me stop the crank turning. i really cant think of a way to stop it. all a...

Engine Mounts

Ok so im almost ready to install the V8 (4.6 GEMS) into the Landrover 90, have the chassis side of the mounts heading my way, but the question is are the mounts on the 4.6 compatible or do i need to change them?

the fresh rockers on the opposite side from the filler, but on reading the receipts in detaili see its had a new one fitted approx 3'000 mls ago

iv got all the receipts for the vehicle and looking through them i believe its been well serviced and the engine was flushed each time,

its been done at brownchurch landrovers for most of its life so may give them a ring and see what they can tell me about it

ok so started stripping the 4.6 earlier for its rebuild and on removing the rocker covers found the innards of the passenger side to be a very dark (almost) black bronze colour and the driver side to be more a gold/bronze colour but with a single grey rocker, is this normal or do i have a serious p...

yeah i understand now, after looking at a parts diagram iv noticed i need part - FRC2859 and the seal - 594087

Engine to Bellhousing mounting

hi, iv taken delivery of my v8 engine today and lt77 a few days ago but i think theres something missing between the rear of the engine and the face of the bellhousing,

currently i have box with bellhousing

and on the engine side its just the rear of the block

should there be a plate in between?
