As part of my quest for surgical cleanliness of all parts before I start my rebuild I need to dismantle, clean and re-assemble the whole fuel injector thingby. Is there a correct way of removing the injectors from their ports in the manifold?
Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Few plenum questions: Rover 3.9
a question about the small aluminium plate fixed to the underside of the plenum throat by four bolts. It has two metal tubes, presumably for rubber pipes and appeared to have a diaphram of some sort within it (which was damaged during strip down). What is this curious plate and what is its purpose?...

The curious assembly underneath the butterfly is a small water jacket. It's fed from a small outlet on top of the inlet manifold, and I can't recall where the other pipe goes. Are you locking the crankshaft before trying to remove the bolt? Chris. Hi Chris, crankshaft locked on the end of the crank...

Trumpets and base: Rover 3.9
Novice mistake I'm afraid: I left the trumpet and base assembly in a strong caustic soda solution and forgot about it.......for three days!! Result is that the aluminium base is completely useless and I haven't been able to remove the trumpets (which are ok). I anyone dismantling an engine with no f...

Few plenum questions: Rover 3.9
Still busy dismantling and cleaning parts in preparation for reassembly. I've completely stripped down and cleaned the plenum chamber and have a question about the small aluminium plate fixed to the underside of the plenum throat by four bolts. Air intake trumpets
I am rebuilding a 3.9 Rover V8 and am busy refurbishing components before re-assembly.
The air intake trumpets are set into an aluminium base and I wondered if anyone knows of a method of removing these so that I can clean and polish the whole assembly?
Thanks in anticipation

Throttle linkage removal
I'm trying to separate the throttle linkage from the plenum chamber on my 3.9 Rover v8 so that I can clean and re-finish the former. Having removed the three bolts which seem to hold the linkage and chamber together I can't get them to separate and the linkage seems permanently fixed to the butterfl...

As I'm new to this board I'll probably ask questions which have already been asked (and answered) many times over so apologies in advance! Today's question is this; the big end bolts (and those on the oil filter housing) on my RvR 3.9 are of a type I've never come across before; sort of fluted. Can ...
