Throttle linkage removal

Post by Lord Steve »

I'm trying to separate the throttle linkage from the plenum chamber on my 3.9 Rover v8 so that I can clean and re-finish the former. Having removed the three bolts which seem to hold the linkage and chamber together I can't get them to separate and the linkage seems permanently fixed to the butterfly inside.
Any suggestions as to how to separate the two?
Thanks in anticipation.

Is there a spherical bearing on the butterfly spindle?, it should slide along the spindle, but it might have seized up.

Chris.
