To be honest, it still amazes me just how cheap these engines are, I sold a genuine 62000 mile, SD1 Vitesse engine (reputedly 190bhp  ) recently for £150, absolutely complete. And for reasons even I can't explain, yesterday I bought another one from a Discovery, again complete with flywheel, in...

Range Rover P38 Exhaust manifolds
After a disatrous purchase of a pair of TVR manifolds that A, will not fit, and B, really will not fit, I have been trawling Ebay for an alternative manifold solution for the SD1 Rally car I am building. P38 Rangie manifolds seem to be in abundance, question is, are they any good? If looks are owt t...

Hi, Love the project, sd1 vitesse was one of my school boy dream cars, so I'm loving it.... Just a quick note on the exhaust manifolds..... I believe that the 80's touring cars with 300+ bhp use ported standard cast manifolds.... just a thought.... Great fabrication work, going to be cool when its ...

Just a quick update for now fellas, I am still cracking on with this project, but not much time for all this computer malarkey. So, managed to get a few hours today, finally managed to get the carbs and manifolds on to check for under bonnet clearance, and to check the TVR manifolds, which didn't go...

Sounds like you have a sound basis for a high rev 3.5. Re the cam I still think that it may be a little wild for a rally car with virtually nothing under 3000 RPM also it's a mechanical cam and with need solid lifters (cam followers in english) adjustable rockers, adjustable roller rockers would be...
