Like ChrisJC, I can`t see my timing marks for similar reasons, so I take rocker cover off left hand side, set piston no 1 to TDC on compression stroke by watching where the rocker arms go and position rotor arm just before firing on number 1 lead, worked ok, then adjust it till it sounds about right...

Yep, I got one of them on my Series 3 to relocate the filter/pump assy away from the front diff as stated.

I have a pair of early Range Rover manifolds with the single bore outlet but the rh one is the type with the detox pipe on it.

Also have a pair of the later twin bore manifolds. If either are any good let me know.

I have a 16" kenlowe pusher fan wired to a relay and then a thermostat. Off the thermostat is a copper wire with the torpedo shaped sensor that fits into the top rad hose (the one with the red sealing band). No matter how I try I cannot get this to seal correctly. How can I re-connect the fan t...

was going to take inspection cover off yesterday but it p***ed down all day. can get reverse with engine off but it`s a hard fight, thought it might be something to do with the release bearing not travelling far enough forward.

oh well, engine out again !! :cry:

did bleed clutch before I put engine in but not sure if I got all the air out, will do it again to be sure

Got no gears !!!!!!!!!

Finally got engine running but can`t select any gears, have heard of this happening before so if anyone can give me a bit of advice it would be greatful.

Series 3 Land Rover with 3.5 V8 Rangie engine on standard series box.

Simple question here, I have twin Strombergs and where the carbs fit to the air filter elbows there is a small pipe about 10mm diameter and bent at 90 degrees, one end fits to a tube in the casting the other end has long flexible tube coming out of it.
