Weight of a block

Weight of a block. idealy a Xbolted but don't think it was vary that much.

Idealy within 5kg

anyone know the aprox weight of a block, with liners but without pistons or crank, but with end caps.

no heads or sump.

10-15 kgs at a guess, there not that heavy .. unlike trying to get it off the bench after u've assembled the bottom end !
So thats where it went !

If I can sneak the bathroom scale up the grage tomorrow, I will weigh my 3.5, its a bit easier to sneak out the scales than to sneak the block into the barhroom!!!!
Or the other weight calculation is, its not too heavy so I cant lift it above my head, but damn heavy enough to hurt when you drop it in your foot.. :shock: :shock:

A bare X-bolt is around 35kgs I believe. Earlier blocks are a little lighter.

I weight almoust all pars what i have..

Bare block 94mm bore, inc bearings carrier + bolts is near 34Kg +-1Kg. Total 33-35Kg :lol:

I think 35Kg is absolute maxium..

I was thinking it was between 25 and 40. so 35 sounds right.
