Ford type 9 to 3.5 rover v8
Hi Everyone
New to the forum and wanting to mate a ford type 9 to a rover v8 3500 i know they are not the strongest of boxes but just want to get a engine in a project and get it rolling.
I have googled the hell out of it and cant find a company that does one any more can someone PLEASE help me track one down or point me in the right direction !!

There are a few post on here like this, you may want to have a search for them. Basically the few companies doing the conversion stopped because the box really isn't strong enough for the torque of even a stock 3.5. If you upgrade the gearsets and all that then sure but that's expensive. Far better to just get an R380 or even good LT77 to start with. Conversions were made a while back though so if you can wait it out one might show up eventually or create your own out of an auto bell housing, plate and some welding. It really is the wrong box though.

TVR RV8 as standard is a T5 so you can get a bell housing and box that way ... assuming it will fit.
(Magnum disappeared some years ago as I was going that way once.)

The bellhousing for the P76 V8 looks like a close match for the Ford Type 9. It's nearly 8" deep.
