Is my cooling layout correct - Pic Attached
Hello all,
I honestly thought this would be so easy (I should know by now)....
Having recently changed the engine in my car I find myself having some cooling issues (steam from cap). I'm confident it might have something to do with my water pipe set-up.
I have an edelbrock performer intake, a thermostat housing with the extra by-pass attachment, an expansion tank from a rover, a radiator from an audi (no cap) and a P6 water pump.
I've searched multiple web sites for answers but seem to find contradicting suggestions...
Hope my diagram makes sense. Please help, its extremely frustrating

What exactly is the problem ?
The diagram looks pretty good really.
Only bit not 100% sure about is the one from stat housing to pump.
The heater would normally circulate hot water that never goes through the stat. Maybe it's just the drawing though.

Almost exactly identical to my setup, except I have an extra filler cap in my top hose run. I've had this in my Lotus for years now with no problems, maybe you have a faulty component, or slipping belt (assuming it's an overheating problem you have).

No the connection to the expansion tank is incorrect as the top of the hose to the rad is a low pressure point - the small hose to the expansion tank must be from a permanent high pressure point the other side of the stat.
Also I know its just diagramatic but the connect from the expansion to the pump should be as close to the pump as possible.
