Help please firing problems not firing 2 on each bank

Hi All

Just started my land rover series 2a v8 up and is not firing on

2 and 8 on right bank

3 and 5 on left bank

range rover classic 3.5 engine 1986 on (su carbs)

any info would be great Thanks Nige

I assume you mean 3 & 5 on the left bank, and if that's the case, and as you're running twin SU's then all those cylinders are fed by the O/S (RH) carb.

Check the operation of the duff carb - does it have a petrol feed?, does the float chamber / bowl (whatever they have!) work?, is the linkage present and operating? Needle missing?, diaphragm split?

Hi Chris

I put refurb kits in both carbs 8 mouths ago but due to lack of use
something may have stuck will remove carb tomorrow and check

Could well be stuck float bowl needle, so no petrol on that side.
