guys any advise changing my front cover advise 4.6 rover

please if any one can advise just starting pulling my 4.6 gems front cover off i have taken out all the bolts etc pulleys even the 3 studs that hold sump on its loose but unlike the early 3.9 v belt set up front cover i have to put on in its place , the4.6 gems oil pump set up is totaly different because it drives off the crank i read on v8 forum but the sump is still in place will i have to remove the sump to remove it i have not forced anything lol as i know theres something holding it on still ,advise would be greatly recieved as i am back on it in the morning cheers bo :?

The oil pick up pipe is bolted to one of the main shells, and it's also fastened to the timing cover.

if you are using an early 3.9, post intermediate front cover will not fit the 4.6 sump, I think a small spacer is needed on the crank too?? if youswap the sumps over.
what type of oil pump are you using? with or without dissy??

ian thanks i will change the 4.6 gems sump and pick up pipe now i know it will not fit the 3.9 cover , i am using the 3.9 front cover it had v belt pullys etc im using a 270 cam with dissy gear & the 3.9 sump & mallory dissy and i am on 500 eddy carb all the bits off my 3.9, i am hoping i can use all this early 3.9 bits on this gems 4.6 i know i have to rejet the carb, i been told the spacer is 30mm does that sound right ? thanks bo
