Can you give details of where to get a bleed valve etc? I think it would make filling the SD1 EFI somewhat easier.

Where is the coolant temp sensor positioned?

In the inlet manifold in the standard position is fine but if it's after the thermostat in the top hose of the top of the rad it is getting a false reading and measuring the rad temp not the engine temp.

If the sensor is in the standard position then I would suspect the thermostat isn't closing properly/stuck open.

Tony, have you got an oil cooler fitted which may be over cooling the engine? If it's any use my chevy engine runs at 75 degrees while moving :?

Have you got an ordinary temp gauge too - and is that roughly agreeing with the MS coolant sensor?

its an o/e capri gauge mate that has blue segment one end then a red segment the other, and is black between them
so your guess is as good as mine,
in traffic the gauge sits around half or just over,
when cruising it drops to just above the blue after about 10-15mins of driving around 70mph+

Have you checked the thermostat is actually shutting off the rad? Not trying to teach you to suck eggs :D but the top hose should remain cold as the engine warms up and suddenly get very hot.

Do you have a thermostat on your oil cooler? Or is it just an open pipe?
