Are yes very under rated, but how much is a cam kit for your ford, bet its not £1000 ish, pair of gasflowed heads £2500 ish, I wish it was as cheap to modify as a ford or small block chevy........... It would have alot more power if I could afford it...
I have just built an engine for my mates 205, based on a 306GTi6 lump, made 240bhp and 193lb/ft probably only cost £2.5k.. Damn these germans...
Thanks, your right not easy and at times wished I hadn't started it, but in the end glad I did, very pleased with end result... ish.. Its a project car and I don't think it will ever be actually finished.... Now working upgrading the inlet system so watch this space...
I don't know if its mine in the mag haven't seen it, me and Dave were talking about bigger engines, its always been the case that there is no substitute for cubic inches, the old problem was that big capacity came with big weight but not any more, my BMW V8 weigh's the same is the american version of the straight six and with multi valve units out good power outputs can be achieved with very little modification....

Steve.
My project is still underway with the same unit and 6speed box.. have you considered any more power mods? at the moment its just decatted and remapped? 340hp?
Can i have the contact details for the company who modified your oil pump?
I agree Chris, the rover v8 was and still is an excellent engine and very light..!! Had one in a cortina MK5 and MK3 capri..
I am in the throws of fitting individual throttle bodies on her, should give it a bit more.... and as for the oil pump, I have the one and only jig for holding everything inline for welding the extension pieces in place.....

Would you be willing to lend it or get a pump modified for me?
Damn, I was afraid of that. Those boxes seem to be as available as rocking horse poop. Although I was reading that the e34 box internals are the same as those of a 328. Has anyone had any experience with bell housing adapter plates? Sorry for the questions
