What to do if I've lost my locking wheel nut adapter?!

Righto I'm actually not bothered about destroying them to be honest, I can always get standard replacement ones anyway. Doesn't seem to be any spinny thing on.

I think it would be very hard to try and match a key so that option is out.

Those gator things look ok but they're a bit pricey!

Might have a look at trying to grind down an old socket set first as I've got plenty lying around, before I start spending money. If this bloody rain ever lets up! Will keep you posted, and thanks for the responses been very helpful so far

Hi,

They look just like the latest type fitted to the BMW's ( i am for my sins a BMW tech )
We have a master set at work, pop into your nearest dealer they also should have a set, they are numbered so IF they find one that fits should be able to order a replacement too

Where abouts in the world are you ?l

I'm up in Liverpool mate. Problem is the car isn't running as I've removed the head to do a bike carb conversion

so whateve the solution may be, I have to do it in my back yard!

Sod it !!! if you were closer would pop round with our set, sorry

We have had these things stuck on oursevles due to poxy tyre exhaust centres doing them up with 3/4 drive air guns to stupid tight , we have removed them by using a HSS die grinding bit in a air powered die grinder. just the insert with the pattern is hardened steel, once through that, which is easier said than done, the rest is comparity soft.

Haha cheers anyway John. Good news, I was rooting around in the garage and found a bag of bits and pieces from when I first bought the car, hiding under the MG. In it was the plastic wrapping for the locking wheel nuts, complete with the chuffing key!! I'd spent a good amount of time going through boxes of stuff looking for the actual key itself, hence why I'd missed it. What a numpty!
