Have a word with Kwik-Fit, etc. They must be used to this.

Hi
We had a very similar situation recently and had to get a local garage to get the lock nuts off .
Ended up having to get the little buggers cut off(which was a right old pain) and new ones to replace.
You could always try the original supplier (ie Mc Guard) or dealership of the car you have.
Hope this helps.
cheers

The problem is they are extra length wheel nuts due to to large spacers (on a wide-arch car) which are both ridiculously rare, hard to get hold of and very expensive!

So I'd rather not get them chopped off if at all possible!

cheers for the reply tho, anyone else help?

Depends on how much you need to get them of, Hammer a cheap socket over them, then proceed to remove the bolt or nut

Olly, you say they are expensive so you don't want to cut them off- but what good are they if you don't have the adapter anyway!

you're missing the point, if I get them cut off I have very little chance of finding replacements, I currently can't even find replacement 'standard' nut never mind an extra-length locking nut!

They're on my Dimma 106, which runs 100mm spacers out the back and (I think) 30mm on the fronts. Spacers and nuts are £350 from Dimma, except they don't do them anymore . . . hence why I need to get them off in one piece!!!!!

Olly, I think that's where the suggestions that I've seen all fall down, removal by most means is a destructive process. R.

There are various designs and methods of removing them

Post a photo.

Ive tried drillin some off with cobalt bits and even that barely made a mark !!

Ive tried some of the tools above, with various success.

Some have a super hard steel centre and then a rotating collar on the outside, to prevent the hammer/socket method.

Either way though, if they are a good design, there will have to be some destruction involved.
