Bolt Size Help!

Post by Crazy »

Hey guys, I'm needing some help with some bolt sizes (thread, width and length) for a few bits on my Rover SD1 3.5 V8 if y'all could be so kinda :)

- Engine mount bolts (I think I've found on here that they're 5/16" and 7/16" UNC, but not seen what length they need to be)

- Starter motor bolts for bolting that up

Can't think of any other bolts that I need to know the size of at the moment, but help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers :D

With the engine mount bolts,..are we talking those on the actual mount or those that attach the bracket to the engine into which the mount attaches?

Those on the mount are part of it, not separate. For the bracket they are 5/16" UNC X 7/8" long and 7/16" UNC X 1 1/8" long.

For the starter motor, 3/8" UNC X 1 5/16" long. These bolts have a slot in the head to accept a screw driver blade so as to assist in their installation.

Be sure to use high tensile.

The SD1 uses allen head bolts for the starter. Not enough clearance for hex.

Cheers guys! Got the starter motor bolted up (I used a hex head perfectly fine but I took the exhaust manis off for working on the mounts) and got the base plate for the engine mount on the block now too

Just need to have the mounts made up now so the plates connect to the mounting points (which is always useful  ) then it's all simple stuff from then :D

Wanted to post a message and then saw a bolt size tread already here...

Do any of you know the thread sizes of these two?
I want to blank these off but need to know which sizes so I can buy the bolts.

Thanks !

Gauge temperature sensor will probably be an odd thread. 3/8" NPT or BSP or something

I think the other ecu temp sender is M12x1.5
9.85 @ 144.75mph
202mph standing mile
