3.5 v8 lucas 35 de8 wiring plz help

have a 3.5 v8 with 390 holley fitted
running points dizzy at min
i have the lucas 35 dizzy with the small flat electric box that goes with it,what i would like to know is how to wire it up please. :)

The box will be a ballast resistor.

Do some searching on this forum, as the same question has been answered a few times before.

Do you mean the little black box that is mounted on the body of the dizzy in which case it's the amp and the dizzy will be a 35DLM8 which requires a Lucas DLB198 coil or equivalent.

If it is the amp your describing does it have 2 or 3 terminals? Nomally, from memory only two connections are required from the coil + and - but will have to check which way round thwey go as a long time sice I wired mine up.

its the early type i have with the silly ballast resistor
have junked the resistor and wired the dizzy with 12v and removed the ballast resistor from the capri.I had a 12v coil kicking about wired this in and she started first time,sounded much better than when running the old points dizzy
