Kick-down Cable to Edelbrock Carb. Advice Needed Please

Post by bigdawgv8 »

Hi All,
Coming to the end of a long, drawn-out V8 Minor Pick-up build and need some more advice.
I have a BW65 'box and an Edelbrock manifold and carb.

What is the best way to connect the kick-down cable to the carb?

Does anyone have any pics of their install?

Cheers

Martin

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the reply.

Any chance of a pic or two (if you have any) of how the cable connects to the carb?

Thanks again for the help.

Cheers

will get some photos of the bits during the week,The cable connects to the back of the head on a plate , it has a screw thread for it and then to a lever and then a 4 inch bar with andother linkage that goes behind the carb and then another bracket fastened to the carb foot and across to the throttle with a small ball end.
Like i said i should have the parts around in the garage if they are any use to you.

found the details on the weber carb install paperwork

the only part i dont have is the kick down cable bracket fastened to the rear of the cylinder head, that went when i sold the box.

Hi here are some pictures of the parts i have when i sold my BW65 box, this is the kickdown linkage from the weber carb fitment.

If i remember correctly the cable from the box fastened into a threaded fitting in a bracket on the rear of the head , might find one from a SD1 breakers/parts forum etc.

this just cliped to the rear of the bracket with a clevis clip.

This may or may not help. I have a chevy gearbox. But it still has a kickdown cable that i fitted to the Weber 500 by making a small clamp

I connected my kick down cable to the throttle pedal. Seemed the more obvious and easy way to do it, as it didn't really reach the carb.
