35 Dm8 connections

Post by Wee_chris »

Hi,

its been a while since last on the forum as had to put V8 project on hold for a bit, but now I've got started again and plan to try and have car on the road by spring next year. I know it sounds like a long time but got a mini to finish restoring and just got my hands on 1972 Lotus Elan +2 drophead that needs a wee bit fettling, also going away for a couple of months at the end of the year does not help.

Hopefully this is an easy one for some of you.

I have a 35dm distributor on my rover V8, its the one with the amplifier connect to side of the distributor. there are two terminals on the amplifier I need to know what one connects where.

Not sure how to describe layout but hopefully a vertical stroke and a hyphen will demonstrate layout

The vertical stroke one is right angle to the cap

Thanks

Chris

Sadly I'm 6000 miles from my van at the moment so I can't check. However this question has been asked on the forum before, so the answer ought to be lurking somewhere......

Chris.

Thanks Chris.

I had a hunt round but could not find anything.

Called JV8 today and as usual he gave the answer.

The connectors are positioned like a the letter T the connector which is the top bar is connected to the negative of the coil and the other is connected to the positive of the coil.
