Never heard of that happeningtopcatproduction wrote:Is it an issue not tying the 2 sides of the vally together with a 1 piece manifold as Dimitri was trying to sort out a while ago? He had issues with the block cracking in the valley if I remember and was trying to sort out a brace of some kind..

Ah just looked and it shouldn't affect you as Dimitri's problem was with an old block design with less webbing! http://www.v8forum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5792

Wow,50mm, thats huge, im running 42s on a 3.9,
Heres a pic of a pair of JE manifolds, slightly modified so they are canted over at 10degs to straighten the run to the heads,

and another pic of my old Zodiac with TJ injected 289,

and a Link to a set that was on EBay last week,

Fabricated out of thin wall stainless steel:glen wrote:can you post any pics of your manifold? i'm using gsxr tb's on my 302 as soon as i can get an inlet manifold fabricated. it was easy on a 4 pot, but i'm new to all this v8 stuff!mjheathcote wrote:That looks great.
I'm using gsxr throttle bodies on my Triumph Stag V8 so quite similair.
What size connections are you using for the vacuum take off on each throttle body, and it looks like you have joined them all together in the same size nylon pipe? I ask because I am interested whether the size is suitable to provide sufficient vacuum for the brake servo.
Also are you using MAP sensor only or also throttle position as well? I understand that using MAP sensor on such arrangements with multiple throttle bodies does not work too well?
Thanks,
Mike
Took me ages to draw it up on CAD and to work out all the angles, not easy at all, but it has worked out good so far. Fuel rail finished now, throttle arrangement to sort out next. Making a steel jig to represent the heads has made it easier to work on.

,cheers.
this is looking good, although, with a 302 ford, you need something to keep the oil in the block, between the heads. i presume that is the "valley", remember, i'm new to v8's
so i think i would need to fabricate a 3 piece manifold, unless there is a manifold with 8 inlets already in production that i could attatch the throttle bodies to with the tried and tested silicon hose method. can anybody shed some light on this please?
