Roller Rockers

Mark, those real steel pushrods are time consuming to assemble apparently and you need a lathe to turn them to length, and a drift to push the tips in if you are doing it yourself. (Thats what they told me).

They sent me a set of their HD pushrods last week and when I checked them the ends were welded on the piss which made them, well..... bent basically! RS didnt manufacture them, but...I wasnt happy.

Decided to give up and ordered a custom made set from Crane. Spoke to a gerrrl named Barbie!

Check out the Manton pushrods website for amazing custom pushrods! pricey though.

The set of YTs I have have a small hole in the top of each rocker that lets oil escape and run down the top of the rocker. YT recommend fitting a small restrictor in the oil supply hole coming up from the head to prevent flooding the rocker covers with oil.

Because they are adjustable setting lifter pre-load is easy. Also seen them used on a P76 which oiled via hollow pushrods.

Ive got a set of Kenne Bells, Full Needle rollers, came in a bucket of spares I bought last year, although KB do not carry Buick parts any more, TA Performance have the rights to make them.

That's got me worried!

Were they the 5/16th adjustable ones that they sell fore RV8's and SBC, you have to knock in the required "ball" depending on what motor your fitting them to?

No Pete they were different to the ones you are talking about.

Standard length non adjustable with the tip welded in, instead of pushed in.

The Yella Terra's turned up today!
After inspecting the adjusters, I dont need hollow pushrods as they oil through the rockers.
Cost $550 plus £61 import duty and VAT About £341
Very good service less than 2 weeks.
Now I need to start re building.

That's excellent, £80 cheaper than V8 Tuner do them for.

So what pushrods will you be using with them?

Im gonna try the standard pushrods.
The cup in the mechanical lifters seems slightly lower than the hydraulic ones so Im going to check the roller contact patch in the valve stem.
I think the only way to alter the geometry is to either raise or lower the pedestals.

I order some parts couple of weeks ago at V8 tuner.. He says that only discount is for Crower cams only..
