Roller Rockers

Post by mgbloke »

Where can I buy some Roller Rockers.
Phoned around and no one has any.
Is it easy/safe to buy from the States?

V8 tuner do Yella Terra roller rockers for the RV8, think they are a little over £400.

http://www.v8tuner.co.uk/product.php?id=533

Alternatively Summit Racing do Harland Sharp roller rockers, if you do a search on ehre there are a couple of posts about them (IIRC they are not advertised correctly ni the Summit catalog but they do sell them). Kokkolanpoika on here bought some (he's in Finland) and paid the equivalent of about £230 - but import is different over there.

Of course it is easy to buy from the States, but bear in mind you'll have to pay import tax, VAT, shipping and insurance, plus a handling charge from the courier. To be honest by the time you've done all that it's prob just as easy to get them from V8 tuner.

Bear in mind that it is highly likely you'd need a new set of pushrods to match the roller rockers, either heavy duty or adjustable. :D

Yella Terra wont sell direct to you was what I found, but they refer you to one of their dealers in the US. Internal engine parts.com was where I got mine- they were really good, dealt with a guy call Don Ausband there.

Cant remember exactly how much I paid, but with duty, tax etc etc they still came out at better value. Depends how quickly you need them I guess?

http://www.harlandsharp.com/

I bought my roller rockers from here...
Price inc Finnish vat/rate of duty about 24-25% and also carriage.
Total is 292£
Rocker normal price is 400$ USD
I think summit price is slightly higher than straight from harland sharp.

Ps. It is easy to buy in USA if you own a credit card or Visa?
And it is safe if order some store/shop.. I think that risk is only in "personal" buying..

Thats not true..

I ask last year straight from Yella Terra about rover rockers.. And they can sell them to me/ or you.
But in my case, price and carriage is mutch higher than Harland Sharp.. About 150£

Stand corrected then Timo

Tried to get mine from yella terras website, but got re-directed to authorised Aus, US or European dealers. Come to think of it European dealer links came up zilch.

Timo
Had a look at Harland sharp.com but which rockers fit the rover V8?
I Phoned V8tuner last week and he said he has some on order from Australia but no delivery date.
I looked at the Yella Terra web site and got a price from Rocket industries for the YT6000 rockers.
$818 with freight @ $160 and a bank fee of $20 which works out at over £450 which I think is expensive!

Will try USA

Thanks

If you think 450 for a set of Roller Rockers is expensivem have a look at the price of the Ford Kent Roller Rockers from Burtons, https://www.burtonpower.com/product_main.aspx?home.aspx
makes the Rover ones seem like a posative Bargain!!!!

just ordered two sets of shaft mounted roller rockers from the states for my chevy, they will come in at about £195 each set including shipping and vat.
I think that is prety reasonable for about an hour searching on E-bay and buying.
Mike
PS anyone interested in a brand new set of mixed 1.6/1.5 ratio shaft mounted roller rockers for a chevy? :D :D

There used to be a distributor for Yella Terra in the UK but he got out of it and sold his stock. I believe Grantura engineering bought it. Contact Mike there to see if he still has any left, it was a couple of years ago now though.

It used to be Rooster Racing, Speedflow took over Rooster, so there may be a link there,
