SD1 Flywheel weight.

Can anyone tell me the weight of a standard SD1 flywheel?

I'll weigh my tonight, as its sitting in the kitchen ;)
Current V8 car TVR 400SE 240 BHP
Current Project TVR Tasmin Race, with 3.9 running at 230 BHP
Currently building a 4.6 300 BHP Xbolted Engine for it. Solid Lifters and Group A rockers, Stange 4 heads, Pocketed piston, fully balanced.

As long as it's an SD1 flywheel that will be bery helpful.

Yes its a standard SD1 unit.

I was hopping I could fit a trigger wheel too it, but look like it will be a lot of work.

A standard 2wd flywheel is roughly 32lbs.

Just weighed mine tonight, had to lug it up a flight and a half of stairs to my flat, now if I had a brain I would have taken the scales down to the car!

Anyway it weighs in at 28 1/2 lb I knew it had been lightened and balanced but didn't know what the original weight was, not too light and should go well with the new engine.

That's about the normal weight for a lightened cast flywheel. From what I can see they are usually 4-5lbs lighter.

Weighed mine also,
Standard SD1 was 31lb aprox.
I think lightened are normaly 27lb 4lb lighter.

My flywheel is 17lbs, but its a steel one, so hopefully it wont explode!!!!

V8 tuner do them for £240 but they are 27lbs

I think DJE do them for £334 according to their website and they are 17lbs - so I'm guessing its one of them

Aluminium flywheels can be had for £430, also from V8 tuner - which only weigh 11lbs!!!
