thanks for the replys guys but i think ive licked the problem..i took the relief apart and cleaned the valve with a bit of wet n dry then replaced it with a couple of washers for good measure...i then milled the face by a thou or two and returned it to true flat which just about removed the scoring....

Is this normal

Hi guys i aint posted for a while so i kinda feel cheeky with a question :oops: ....My oil pressure has slowly over a period of 6 months been dropping and now ime down to 20 psi on normal road rpm's,i have a 90 Rangie with a 3.5 and all though i have no knocks or taps i thought ide better have a loo...

yea was going to extract it thats not the problem..need to know if 25psi oil pressure will harm untill i fix :wink: . thanks for reply bud

oil pump casing stud snapped

:cry: one of my above has snapped and to stop it leaking ive had to double up on the gasket hence reducing my oil pressure...at 3000 rpm ime pumping 25psi,will this damage my 3.5 untill i sort it with an "easy out"????

Stevie, All you are doing by inserting a short piece of brake pipe into the boost hose is reducing the internal bore and therefore the wastegate will read a lower pressure. You are going to struggle routing over the chassis rails. You wouldn't want to go below either. Only option i think is to cut a hole through the chassis and sleeve it with some heavy guage pipe - which isn't great either. why not exit on the passenger side, as from memory thats the side the exhaust...

side exit zorst

i want to put a side exit with a single small box in the exsisting place and have the pipe exit just before the drivers rear wheel...can anyone give me any pointers in text..links..or pics to help me along

when i swapped my 4.6 for a 3.5 (fuel costs) i had a small intermitent knock and found it was the sump pan hitting the front crank web--the gap is very small at the front and iff the motor has been knocked it can just be enough to foul the crank. hth

hi again guys....ive fitted a 3.5 into my rangie and retained the 3.9 intake and maf also the 3.9 ecu would this explain the constant sooty pipe and its hard to rev it past 4000 ???? ive tried to turn the screw on the maf to alter fueling but its no better. I thought it would of gone into self-learn...

ive always found when using silacone its best to coat the night before thus giving you a non-messy seal that wont overlap into the ports and waterways and attually more effective at sealing :)

ime running a 3.5 on a rangie and got mine set to just before it starts to "pink" which happens to be 8 degrees which is efi btw
