Hi guys
Would replacing the rover 1.75" su carbs for jaguar 2" su carbs give the engine better mpg.

Take the restrictors out of the inlet manifold[if they are still in] and you should get 132bhp. 132 bhp would thier be an improvement on mpg i would be happy with around 20 mpg :wink: There might be a tiny improvement in MPG at steady speeds - but it will be worse if you use the extra grunt. Mods to a land rover stage 1 V8 engine
Hi guys I am looking at buying a land rover stage 1 V8 to take me to my static caravan in cornwall and back a few times a year and i know the std stage 1 engine is de-tuned to 90bhp which doesn't help with the mpg between 10-13 mpg and i have hered that whilst uprating the engine to early range rove...

I am in between cars atm but i am on the look out for a stage 1 V8 land rover, many years ago i fully restored a rover P6 V8 auto which included the rebuild of the V8 engine so i feel confident in going into another one again
