I have a choice of 2 lt77 5 speed gearboxes in my garage to go into my gt6 v8. One is a 17A (rover 2300/2600),the other a CL number(TR7).Are they identical for the internals.The 17A box has no play in the shaft,but the tr7 box has about 1mm of play.I dont really want to start opening them up. The engine is in the gt6 now & not using power steering so I dont know the physical location of the power steering bracket your refering to. The sensor was on a bracket directly at 3 o clock (as you view the engine from the front)and has two wires that run to the BL diagnostic socket you refered...
