dizzy

its the early type i have with the silly ballast resistor have junked the resistor and wired the dizzy with 12v and removed the ballast resistor from the capri.I had a 12v coil kicking about wired this in and she started first time,sounded much better than when running the old points dizzy thanks fo...

3.5 v8 lucas 35 de8 wiring plz help

have a 3.5 v8 with 390 holley fitted
running points dizzy at min
i have the lucas 35 dizzy with the small flat electric box that goes with it,what i would like to know is how to wire it up please. :)

hi
am in process of doing a rover v8 conversion to my mk3 capri

i have several 3.5 lt engines
have been offered a 3.9 efi
would i be best to run the 3.9 with efi or with a holley
it will be getting tubular exhaust manifolds and fast road cam.manual 5 speed gearbox.

holley or efi :?

valve guides+porting

i have 2 sets of sd1 heads :D is it worth machining back the valve guide(where it sticks out in to the ports) :?: i have access to the kit to port and polish the heads(wont polish the inlet ports just the exhaust) how far can i open up the exhaust ports? :?: will match the inlet manifold to the head...

i have just been given a pair of heads
the numbers cast in to them are ERC 0215y
which heads do i have??? :oops:

i have been told you can drill the front of the v8 block ,just above the cam to aid oil drain back
is this true if so where abouts do the 2 holes have to go

how do i find out if my heads can run on unleaded fuel?

i have early heads can i use unleaded fuel?
was told if a magnet sticks to the exhaust valve they are not any good for unleaded fuel is this right

are these any good or are they fit only for paper weights?

the numbers i have :

1 box has 17a1262380 (cast on the right hand side near the base)
the other box has 19a 026920(very hard to read this one as it was stamped on the underside of the box near the bellhousing)
