3.5l + hotwire + tuning

Post by kokkolanpoika »

Hi.

My off-road toy has got 3.5l flapper efi. dynotuned ~173hp rear wheels when this engine was on my SD1. approx 210hp@5120rpm flywheel/311Nm@4000rpm.
Now i just for sale flapper parts and add my 3.9hotwire kit in it.
Question is?
Dos it make any sense to add 45mm trumpets same time? Because i have got 2set of 45mm trumpets.
Inlet manifold´s holes are std size now. Or are those 45mm trumpets only for monster engine´s?
I also have got 72mm plenum only, so i have to use it.. :) So i think if those 45mm trumpets will help slightly breathing at top end? I have got only trumpet base without STD trumpets, so have to buy new one near of future..

Slightly cleaned head´s and inlet manifold, Vitesse cam, 9.35CR, home made exchaust pipe + etc small..

Thanks.

The 45's will work if you port the trumpet base to 45 .. and the inlet manifold to match .. and the bottom of the inlet manifold to match the heads .. it will do very little harm if you dont do these things but will not gain a huge amount. If you do it all .. it will add some throttle response and some high end power but is unlikely to improve torque greatly.
