MLS stands for Multi-Layer Steel. MLS head gaskets are comprised of three layers of stainless steel. The outer layers are an embossed viton coated stainless steel providing a superior seal with excellent rebound characteristics and are corrosive resistant. MLS head gaskets reduce bore distortion and withstand extreme cylinder pressures.

RPI and V8 developmets cheap crap gasket don´t stand with my 5.2L stage 4 RV8 engine. Usually leak oil somewhere + i think it will leak slightly compression gas outside of the block..

My mate uses something like these on his 7 litres chevy lump, His engine builder advised us to use them when we had the heads off it. They seem to be OK so far!

I have just bought a pair of Cometic MLS gaskets for my 4.6 engine. The normal tin and composite gaskets will not hold on in my engine when racing.

I was going to buy some custom gaskets with separate fire rings from Nava Linea Sport in italy. But I spoke to a guy who bought some and he said they leaked a a little when using nitrous.

I spoke to the guy in the UK who is an agent for Cometic and he said these will hold up to my 10psi of boost and the 150 shot of nitrous I use. I asked if I should get my heads ringed and he said NO!! Just make sure the deck are flay and the heads are flat and the gaskets will be the best I can get :)

The Italian Gaskets would be £350.00 The Cometic gaskets were £154.00

Where did you bought them? I just send an e-mail enquire to J.Eales.

My local Finland supplier want´s approx 216£ inc vat etc..

Copper O-ring + machining approx 166£ inc vat + std ellring gasket.

I don´t want to go with ringed heads, because if i sell those heads, it might be problem in the Finland.. Because i can calculate in one or 2 hand all rover v8 engine tuner´s..

They are common place on most modern engines, and work very well.

But mating surfaces need to be perfectly smooth, clean and dry
