Sorry mate was busy at work to answer, i think they can do different compounds mixed so you get a decent feel, Ad see if if they do a sprung centre plate as well, I think they do|

Yeah Terry said they do a sprung 6 paddle clutch, that is user friendly on the road, but extreme clamping force for track use,

He is ringing me back wednesday with prices and possibly other options,

AP are also ringing me back wednesday with some possible options

I think with the AP version they may require a sacrificial insert for the flywheel, BUT, may not be needed if you have a "Soft" friction material,

7" tripple plate tilton, get a second hand one of ebay from a nascar car. Get some new plates and off you go, bit brutal in heavy traffic, but it wouldn't slip no matter how you abuse it.
Best regards

Look this is not fair, I am being serious here, they are cheep from the NASCAR teams second hand, they have normally done 1 race before being changed, which with Nascar means a start and about 8 pitstops, total of about 50 gearchanges and they will take serious abuse without slipping. All you have to do is get the right clutch discs for the rover, and they arn't silly money. The only problem with them is that they have very little "feel" when engaging them, and when they bight they bight hard there is no real transition unlsee you force it with the peddle. They are very like a motorcycle clutch to use in that they do not tell you what is going on and when you take your foot off they are instantly engaged if you are not used to them then you end up stalling the engine like a learner  .
It is a serious sugestion

Tony,

What AP clutch do you use?
I'm using a CP2394-60 cover & CP2346-4 friction plate with a spec of 339lbs/ft of torque & I've been abusing it since 2005.
This clutch was recommended by AP after asking a lot of questions. I found them very helpful.

May be worth giving them a call on 024 76639595 & asking them for advice.
Regards Ged

thats what im currently using Ged,
they have now advised me to go with a CP2394-46 cover and CP4216-4 plate, this will give 350lbs/ft but a stronger clamping force,
if i use CP4196-5 which is a fixed center 6 paddle gives me a spec of 522lbft

I have a V8 development spec Helix on my Griff. It's not slipped (yet) with 350ftlbs. I dare say you are looking for a little more than this...

I would look at something like a twin plate Superclutch & concentric release bearing scheme if the Helix clutch ceased to be up to the job.
