Rebuild/service kits for SU HD8 carbs, and rejetting?
Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew a good (cheap!) place to get a couple of service kits for some SU HD8 (I think) carbs?
Secondly, I'm looking at fitting either a 3.5 or 3.9 with the carbs. They have previosuly been used on both but jetted for 3.5 as far as I know, so how hard is it / what needs doing to rejet them to suit a 3.9?
And finally, anyone know a good place to get them set up once rebuilt, I'm in the NW.
Thanks!

I know of Burlen but they are really expensive and the website isn't the easiest to use, I can't find service kits only rebuild kits. Are service kits really around £43 each?! (that's the best I oculd find using google for ten mins).

There's nothing to service on an SU, IMHO, you just repair what's needed, after a good clean.chodjinn wrote:I know of Burlen but they are really expensive and the website isn't the easiest to use, I can't find service kits only rebuild kits. I don't think their prices too bad considering the quantities they re-manufacture. Different if they were made by the million.

Thanks for the advice guys. Unfortunately something has come up with my other motor that is more pressing so this'll be on hold for a month or two. Will give them a good clean with carb cleaner since I'm skint and see how I fair with that!
thanks as always!
