Can anyone tell me if the bw65 auto box is a straight swap for a bw35 auto box on a Rover V8 P6 engine??
What is the differance between the two boxes??
Is one stronger than the other??

It will bolt to the engine, and the converters are the same, bellhousings are different. Although the 65 does use a lot of the same internals as the 35, in service it tends to give a lot less trouble. It is also a slimmer box. If you're swapping from a 35 to a 65 in a P6B you will need to use the 65 selector cable, and fix a bracket for it to the underside of the tunnel.

You will need a BW65 bellhousing from either a P6B or an SD1 V8. If you are doing the swap in a P6B, and using a P6B BW65, then it will all bolt straight in providing the box comes with its mounting, (other than fitting a bracket for the cable as mentioned earlier) the prop used is the same. The tailshaft housing and rear mounting is different on the SD1 box. Be sure that you've got the box that you think you have before you get started.
PS Only other thing I've just thought of is that the cooler pipes are different, so you'd need those, unless you wanted to risk fitting a link pipe and running without a cooler.
