buick 300 crank and rover flywheel??

Post by kokkolanpoika »

Hi again..

What modification i have to do if i fit buick 300 crank (300crank is in the rover block) and range rover gearbox/flywheel?
Moust intresting this flywheel and starter motor operation..
My gearbox is LT95 (Range Rover) and flywheel is also range rover type..

I have reading that buick crank is 0,56" ~14mm taller than Rover crank to flywheel side?
And i cant use rover own flywheel,
because the stock Rover flywheels will not bolt onto the 300 crankshaft and the stock Buick 300 flywheel is too large to fit in the Rover bellhousings.?
And 0,56" rear offset of the 300 crank would position the flywheel out of the reach of the starter gear.
Is my only choice a custom flywheel?

As an aside, I have buick 300 main bearing shells in stock, just in case you want any.

I have an article on these conversions ( Hot Rod magazine), I'll try to find it.

Ok..

Yes, our local "off-road forum 4 sale topick" some one is trying to sell this type conversion engine, but manual flywheel/ starter motor system is missing/be subsist. This engine kit inc automatick starter motor "flywheel".
But i want/have to use manual box.. :D
