its a 5 litre rover lump with a flapper injection system and a Mark Adams tornado adjustble ECU was runnung ok about 15 to the gallon and then suddenly started running really bad.
she will now only run at 3000 revs or over, anything under that and she stalls and shes drinking the liquid gold like theres no tomorrow.
Was hoping someone has an idea as shes been out of action for a few weeks and my garage is running out fast
My understanding is the Tornado chip is used on the Hotwire system not the flapper.
If this is the case I presume you have a hotwire system (may have been modified from some flapper bits)
On hotwire it sounds like you have got it in limp home mode - exhaust fumes will make your eyes water - even in back garden!
So disconnect the battery for 30 seconds
Reconnect and fire it up - the power off clears the ecu memory of fault codes. If you have a bad sensor / wire etc the limp mode can kick in again (almost imediately)
After that it's get the multi meter out and check resistance etc across the various pins!
Or get hold of someone with an ecu fault reader and find out what the ecu is saying - these are a bit rare!

sounds like you have one or more injectors stuck open. Dont run it until you have found what the problem is though, as you will probably washed all the oil off the bores on at least one cylinder, probably got petrol in the oil as well so that will need dumping out and flushing befroe refilling, to be safe I would squirt oil down the plug holes before you turn it over.
