Manual gearbox options for '71 SBC engine

Post by s13b »

Hi, hope someone on here can help me.
I recently found the above engine with a 4 spd auto box and want to convert it to a manual. I've been told there are some options open to me but have not been able to find any concrete information, or facts about what's possible.

I've been told so far that I can use a manual g/box from an old 760 Volvo (possibly Wentworth Turbo), then use the Chevy flywheel and Volvo clutch.

Or would a g/box from a v8 BMW or Jag also work?

Thanks, any help appreciated.

Once again, this adapter mated to an 86-92 Toyota Supra Turbo R154 transmission and a stock Chevy bellhousing will get you where you want to go.

Or.... this bellhousing:
