Clutch Slave Cylinder, Confused?

Post by Simeon »

I bought a clutch slave cylinder hose from Westfield for my 3.5 RV8 which came with an adaptor to join the female end of the hose to the female end of the cylinder. I believe the end of the hose is AN4 7/16 UNF and I've been told the slave cylinder is 7/16 UNF aswell. Visually the treads look the same on the adaptor but the thread on salve cylinder looks a lot finer. The upshot is from what i've been told the threads should be the same but the cylinder is definitely finer. Could someone please tell me what adaptor I need?

As far as I remember the P6B 3500S cylinder is Imperial thread, and the SD1 onwards (and the Land/Range Rovers) are metric. They are also a different cylinder. When I fitted an LT77 into a P6B I cut the Imperial fitting off the pipe, fitted a Metric one and flared a new end so I could use the SD1 cylinder.
