foliatec i found to be the best,
and the way i did mine many moons ago, was make a template of the windows out of wallpaper then used these to cut round on the film,
make sure you dont crease the film or it will mark,
Spray the window with a soap solution and then gently run a stanley blade over the glass to remove any dirty,
once you have done this spray the glass again peel the backing off the film and place the film on the wet glass, (reason for wet glass is you can move the film into the correct place), once happy using some sort of edge (i used the rubber edge from a window cleaner tool) squeeze the water out from the middle working out to the edges,
once this is done leave to set, some say seal the edges with clear non yellowing nail varnish, i never did and had no problems.
hope this helps....

Easy to do but murder to not get any bubbles in it. The glass has to be absolutely spotless. If you do get bubbles use a hair drier and you can usually shrink them out so long as it isn't grit that's caused it in the first place. To be honest the last couple of times I did it the glass was out the car so I put the film on submerged in water. Dead easy to do then and you don't have the getting the right size problem. Other option would be spray tint but I don't know how well it stands up to use.
