RV8 Intermediate timing cover. Pressure relief valve inspection. Took this apart, ie. removed the circlip, cover and spring along with the little piston.
I have replacement parts. Problem is the little spring cover with the o-ring does not push down easily and then I need to hold it down whilst insert the circlip.
Whats the method?
pressure relief valve cap installation

I was being to gentle. Looked at it more closely and can see that the hole where the cap inserts gets narrower to compress the o-ring.
Problem is I was applying more pressure and then all of a sudden it slipped in and went a little too far. I have installed the circlip and measured the gap between the cap and circlip and it is 2mm. Is this is a problem? I am guessing that once engne is fired up and oil pressure rises then this will be pushed out against the circlip.
