Converting SD1 from auto to manual????

Post by V8James »

Hi all
Ive been after an SD1 for a while but getting one cheap is proving to be difficult

I have been offered 1 for £300 which is pretty solid
Has been sat for a while + im pretty impressed with its condition for the price

Its an auto + im interested in doing a manual conversion on it

Just wondering if its fairly straightforward on these, dont know the car too well

Obviously theres the gearbox, prop, clutch + flywheel, bush in the crank, inhibitor switch wiring
What about pedal box, is it a complete bolt in item like the range rovers are or do i need to modify to fit the clutch master cyclinder?
Am i right in thinking the rad is also different?

Any thing else I have left off?

Cheers in advance
James

Pretty easy and as you've pointed out IIRC. Clutch M/cyl has a blanking plate over the hole in the bulkhead, but ISTR the manuals have a strengthening plate bonded on the inside. Rad just has a cooler in it for the auto which you don't need to worry about. I can't see you having any problems.
