SD1 in-tank pump

Post by ChrisJC »

I've got an SD1 in-tank pump on my Landie, the carb type.
Unfortunately after some stuttering at the pod, I've determined that it's only reaching about 2PSI

So I think it's knacked.

Replacement pumps are about £40 from Rimmers.

Any other suggestions? (I want an easy swap really, I don't want to have to replumb anything unless there's a good reason to)

TIA,

Chris.

If you want a drop in tank pump a VL model Holden Commodore does the job. You can get them on E bay for about AUD80 (UKP40).

I replaced my SD1 pump with a Pierburg low pressure pump. I mounted mine on the crossmember under the tank. These are the same pumps some older Porches used.

The SD1 in tank pump was delivering only 3 psi, the Pierburg 4 - 6 psi which is just right for the Edelbrock carb. on the 4.6. They'll support up to 340bhp, are small and light and are very quite compared to Facet, Holly, Carter pumps.
