Inlet Manifold "runners" for Rover V8 maniflod on

Post by Apollo3500 »

Folks:

I've been looking for cast aluminum manifold "runners" -- tubular pieces that run from the Rover V8 (P6, SD1, etc.) carb. tower towards the back of the engine, in order to locate the twin SUs at the back. This arrangement is similar to the MGB GT V8 "claw" plenum but appears superior in flow, especially with modified SU HIF 44 carbs modified for greater flow (around 450 cfm - cubic feet per minute, which is more than I'll need for a 4.6 L in my MGB).

These "runners" appeared in Roger Williams book on How to Give Your MGB V8 Power.

I also saw a post on another web site by a Richard Day who purchased these castings from a supplier/foundry for his B GT V8 project.

Does anyone know who makes these castings?
