Adjustable pushrods and standard Lifter

Post by Wotland »

Hello,

Someone know if standard lifters accept adjustable pushrods with 3/16" end or ends need to changed for 5/32" size ?

Wrong ends can explain noisy lifters and may be problem to keep correct preload if the end of pushrods doesn't seat correctly in lifter ?

For me standard lifters need 5/32" ends but need confirmation.

Thank.

I can not really give you an answer but when I bought mine from Real Steel they came with two packets of ball ends. One marked Rover, the other Chevy. It might be worth giving them a ring.

Dimitri,

For simplicity the standard lifters should require the same size ball end as the rockers.

I found that some aftermarket lifters, Crane hi rev and some Rhoads lifters and possibly others require the chevy size ball.

Just try the pushrod in the cup and see it it seats properly, put a bit of engineering blue on the ball if you want to make sure.
