RV8 5200cc ignition advance?

Hi..

Does anyone know what kind ignition advance i should run with my 5200cc rover v8 it has got stage 4 heads + 10,8CR..

Now it has got 8deg static and approx 28deg total? and it dosent pinking now..

+ and it dosent feel fast.. :lol:

Set it on a rolling road? you could do the whole curve for max power then and get the distributor re curved.
I would surgest the poor mans solution is to find a long hill you can drive up in 3rd gear, time yourself between 2 points abour 2500 revs appart (holding the same gear at full throttle all the way) stop advance the distributor 2 degrees do run up the same bit of hill between the same speeds/revs stop advance 2 degrees back to the hill. . . . see which gives you the best acceleration up your timed bit of hill and use that (assuming it still doesn't pink) but you live in Finland and finding a suitable hill may be a bit tricky (I presume you live in the southern bit with all the lakes).
Is this in an SD1? maybe you could try finding a straight flat bit of road to use and load up the car with some extra weight (4 pasengers and a few sacks of potatoes in the boot?) and try it that way.

PS at a guess I would think you want about 32 deg but that is a guess
poppet valves rule!
