Tricky Tr7 5.2 v8 update
Hi all, just picked up my heads from Chessman Motor sport WoW!!!!!!

Andy at Chessmans has assured me that the only way to get more flow is to run Wildcat heads hope he is right.

They have replaced all valve seats, valves,valve guides,valve springs,reworked the ports matched the inlet mainfold and wire o ringed the heads
I have purchased a Mallory dissy ,Msd 6aln and coil of Ebay
havent got time or money for new exhaust system before rolling road
Car booked on to TCS rolling road on 24th june same people for PPC shot out day i so hoping for some big gains in power

Will be at Santa Pod on 12th July First run in March ran a 13.2 N/A @101.25 hoping to drop onto mid 12"s with out gas

Hi got pics of heads and sort engine but dont know how to post them??

Tricky,

You need to host the pics on something like Photobucket, you then add the URL link in your post and the pics should appear.

Alternatively create a folder on Photobucket and copy and paste the address and add to your post and then everything you put in that folder should be viewable.

Yep, the pictures are there. What rods are those? Also what have you got in the way of axle location and rear diff ratio/lsd? Reason I ask is I have some very pukka stuff which I may not need as I'm using a ford axle next.

Thanks for helping with pics, i am running a standard TR7 axle with LSD 3:9 ratio i want to change to a ford 9" with a 3:5 diff my axle wont last long need to change gearbox to but to what? been told Supra gearbox is strong i want to stay manual, my engine is running a set of alloy rods
What bits might you get rid of ?

Hi Perry there 42.35 inlet and 36 .85 mm exhaust. What axle you running???

I know you wont believe this Rich!

But I'm still running my stock Salisbury 1975 MGB V8 axle with secondhand 1800 MGB half shafts. Ratio is 3.07:1

I used to have a Phantom Grip diff locker. But I trashed it at North Weald last year when the pinion pin sheered off and caused mayhem in the diff casing.

So I took that locker out and just welded those cogs together to make a sort of home brewed spool.

My engine is all stock too. Apart from the Blower Cam I got from Real Steel 4 years ago. The engine is a 90,000 mile Rangie 4.6 lump. I honed the bores at home and put all new bearings and shells in.

I have broken a few pistons in the last 12 months though. The stock cast pistons dont like too much gas

I think the best upgrade was the 26" rear tyres which helped me get my top end 1/4 mile rpkm down to a sensible level. My engine makes its best torque around 4000rpm. But I'm crossing the line at 5000 rpm. So I still need some more gears really. She is quick off the line though

Tricky, my axle is a 2.85 ratio with a quaife lsd. The axle is located by an 'A' frame under the diff housing to lower the roll centre. Trailing links are above the axle and go rearwards. It's got Leda coilovers. Car corners like a dream and I'll do the same configuration when I fit the ford axle.

Up front I have wishbones and the car doesn't have any roll bars.

It's a TR7 salisbury axle with all the original bracketry removed and then converted.
