holley carb jets

Post by Paul V8 »

Hello, ive just rebuilt a 3.5 rover, it has ported heads, high comp pistons and a crowler 50232 cam, does anyone have an idea of what jets to use in a 390 holley, just to get it running or somewhere close?

Thanks.

If it's a new one, it'll run as it comes out the box. You'll find it's a bit rich though.

There are some basic settings from Chapter 13 of Des Hammills Tuning Rover book.

For a stock 3.5

Primary Main 52
For best results you need to fit a seondary metering block (£40 or so for the kit) and then fit 55 jets
Acc pump nozzle 25
Acc pump cam in pos 1&2: RED
Power valve 6.5
Secondary spring med stock

My tuned 3.9 runs 58's primary and 62's Seconday

Stock 3.9 needed 54's and 58's

Jets are cheap from Real Steel - save on postage and buy a few different sizes - they come in pairs.
