Rover V8 ID

HI, I have two rover V8's . 1 is stamped on the block 9.25:1 cr with a
No. 45117919D. the only info I have says that this number should relate to 10.5:1 cr
The other has a number on a plate of 127885G on the block I have no info on this 1 at all.
if anyone can help that would be great.

Hi Graham, had exactly the same trouble. I found out that my engine - number 45115644D with a 9.25:1cr is a late P6 (74-75) with the "new type" SD1 block, which also had an SD1 rear crank seal fitted and retained the rope front seal and small valve heads.

Don't know about the other engine

I got this info from member jrv8 who said he stocks parts for this engine.
