Valve Springs

I recently put my RRC 3.9 back on the road after replacing the engine and axle with ones I had rebuilt.
Having done some 200 miles one cylinder refused to fire - a compression test showed zero compression and a boroscope showed no damage to the piston crown or bore.
With the rocker covers off it was clear that No 7 inlet valve spring was broken at the base of the spring and not closing the valve.
These were of course brand new valve springs from Britpart.
This is the first valve spring i have ever seen break in some 45 years of messing about with cars and of course Land Rover do not have valve springs at this time - they are on back order (what has happened to our engineering industry that something as simple as a spring is unobtainable)
So be warned the blue box is not necessarily the cheapest option.

I have heard others say similar things,..that parts under that name should be avoided.

Hmmmm..... in all my years of working with RV8 engines and Landrovers, I can honestly say that Britpart rhymes with S**tpart for good reason!
Almost everything I've ever seen in their packaging is of poor quality materials and inaccurate machining, and anyone who trusts their brake linings has to have a screw loose!!

If you've got away with the piston not clouting the valve then you've been lucky! (and it sounds like you have ) If I was you I'd change the all the springs and put this episode down to experiance.
