hi are the tail cones on zf boxes interchangeable ie will one from a sherpa fit a jag as i want to use a speedo regards paul

Short answer, no.

The various tailcones will all fit to the gearbox casing, however, they need the right output shaft to go with them.

According to my listing here, there are different tailcones for:
Volvo, Peugeot, Range Rover, Jaguar and 4 for BMW. Each type needs it's own output shaft and other bits.

The one thing missing from my listing is the output parts for the Sherpa box. I do know that the Sherpa box is identical to the Range Rover box apart from the output end, so it might be possible to fit the Sherpa tailcone to a Range Rover box.

The Sherpa output shaft looks like this:



So if you could find a picture of a Range Rover gearbox with the transfer box & extension housing removed, you might be able to see if they are the same.....
