Megajolt EDIS or Dizzy
Hi again, I have looked through the forums but struggling to find an complete answer!
My RV8 project- blown with a 100bhp shot of nos, fed by a 4bbl atop is being built on a (as much as possible) budget as I will do all the work and fabrication myself- my simple question- bearing in mind I dont like spending money on stuff if I can help it (or it is very beneficial is):
Should I stay with my ancient dizzy (maybe get a new one) or upgrade to EDIS or MJ? (don't really know the difference between them).
Would there be much of a power increase (will keep revs below 6000 to be safe) or is the only benefit at really high revs?!?!
When I was doing my mini's a while ago we could ditch the points for an electronic unit- (possible fitment or any good with the RV8?!)
Thanks!

here is a good guide based on the canems system which i think only does 4 cylinder but it is still relevant

Rev limiting with EDIS is limited to retarding back to 10' btdc - you cannot command it to drop sparks.
Works fine on my chevy, I have a hard fuel cut if the retard doesn't catch it - which has never kicked in so far.
Not sure if MJ supports a rev limiter, MS does however. Personally I would get a MS, because you always have the option of upgrading to fuel control later - plus i suspect you will get wider support for MS.

2 more Q's...
Did Rover really design a whole new front cover when they went dizzyless or did they just plug the hole (ie meaning do the later serp covers have a blank which can be drilled/reamed out for a dizzy?)
and:
I havent stripped my distributor down yet but it will probably be well worn out- am I best replacing it with something like this or putting new springs etc in the old one?

I would like a Mallory one or something flash but to be honest I just can't afford it!
