Road pricing - e-petition
Sign and pass it on. it only takes a minute.
The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to
purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it.
The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC,
the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery
driver.
A non working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in
one month.
On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will
know where you are at all times. They will also know how fast you have been
going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect a
NIP with your monthly bill.
If you care about our freedoms and stopping the constant bashing of the car
driver, please sign the petition on No 10's new website
http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/
Please pass this on to anyone who owns a car/motorcycle. It affects them.

Signed
I notice Nick Faldo has signed too! LOL!
To be fair this has to be a step too far. Firstly i dont see how they are gonna prove who's driving, just like gatsos and secondly why the **** should we pay for privalege of being tracked by them? Im gonna set mine up so it runs in an old case and put it on a plane to Edinburgh! I'd love to see them try to bill me for 400 over the national limit....

Is it just me, but if you want to reduce car usage can't you just stop issuing driving licences to every one who turns up for a test. Make it difficult to pass the test, then get cought drink driving then you get banned for life, get 12 points and get banned then start again and have to pass a test if and when a provisional licence becomes available actually stop people who use mobiles whie driving. Get cought driving without a licence or insurance go to prison for a year get banned for life. This would actually reduce congestion and make the roads safer, however it would require policing and not be a revenue stream for Gordon so will never happen!
