Max power and revs using only two bolt mains

Post by ppyvabw »

As the title suggests.

This is a 3.9 rover. Am tempted to make a cradle, as I have posted on here before a while ago, but can't be arsed.

In either case I'll use the ARP studs, but how much will the two bolt mains take, everything else being blueprinted well and good oiling etc...I was hoping to go a bit mad with this one, maybe even supercharging.

I have run my old pre SD1 V8 3500 for 4 years now with Nitrous.
All stock internals and a 150 shot of gas to take the MGB to 12.4 seconds on the 1/4mile.

I now run a new 4.6 Rangie lump and am trying to see how far i will go before I break it.

^ I'd agree. You can give it the beans with a stud kit. They work well. Can be bettered if using a girdle as well but probably not really essential.

Cheers fellas.

Maybe I'll make a simple girdle then just to cure my paranoia if I can be arsed.

You'll need to make spacers to go between the girdle and main caps. It would be easier to just fit a set of arp studs, job done :)
